Now It's All Over

from Wigs & Liquor by drunkdude69

We had a studio night jam with Mike and Jeff playing bass and Scotty alternating between keys, guitar and drum machine. It was one of the most productive nights ever as far as songwriting. This is one of the songs that grew out of a jam from that evening.

We used to sit in the bucket seats of a smooth ride
Safe inside on a road that kept on going
But time moves on
Like wheels rolling
And the road will bend before we reach the end

Tank was running low but we hit the gas and let it flow
What we didn’t know, it just wasn’t worth knowing
But now we’re driving blind
And the winds are blowing
And we might find the end is just around the bend

Who’s gonna drive
The road less traveled? The path we choose is
Ours to decide
It’s not easy
Shift into gear
We’re steering through a new frontier
Hands on the wheel
(before) It’s all over

It’s dark as night, but we can’t deny we saw the signs
Outside the lines on a road that kept on going
And time moves on
Like wheels rolling
Hope we don’t find the end up around the bend

DD69 music has been described as “a rip through a well-stocked jukebox, with smooth funk that would have been at home on a turntable three decades ago mixing with a contemporary guitar-heavy party vibe that could have been recorded two weeks ago.”

The music has drawn comparisons to classic artists like Stevie Wonder and Frank Zappa, as well as contemporary bands like Sublime and 311.
