about

We were fortunate to collaborate with Skinny Moo (www.skinnymoo.com) frontman Jay Goodman on this song about name-dropping know-it-alls.

While we were writing this, the style brought to mind RHCP mixed with Rage Against the Machine. The working title was "Philly Peckers", a play on "Chili Peppers", and eventually we just shortened the title and decide to go with it since it was strangely appropriate.

lyrics

Walking around
Like you got it all figured out
You always front but we know what you're all about
Stick out your chest,
Yes, we're all impressed
With the size of your big name Rolodex

You want the spotlight
It makes you feel right
Until the bill arrives
And then you're outta sight
Every time it's the same story
Beg
Borrow
Steal the glory

(CHORUS)
There you go
There you go
Go again
Droppin' names like it ought to mean something
Tall tales wrapped in little lies
Always got your eyes on the Cracker Jack prize
There you go
There you go
Go again
Playin' games like you've got to win something
And we're just a means to an end
You're like a broken record baby, there you go again

Right now
You're still running your mouth
Talking about going up to the penthouse
Oh no
Pull out your phone
A bunch of numbers but nobody's ever at home
Who's got the champagne?
Why don't they know your name?
Always looking 'round
But you're the one to blame
Go get the bellhop
Believe it or not
Last night you were kicking it with Kid Rock

There you go
There you go
Go again
Droppin' names like it ought to mean something
Tall tales wrapped in little lies
Always got your eyes on the Cracker Jack prize
There you go
There you go
Go again
Playin' games like you've got to win something
But you always fail to impress
When you try to buy authority at everyone's expense

about

drunkdude69 Cleveland, Ohio

DD69 music has been described as “a rip through a well-stocked jukebox, with smooth funk that would have been at home on a turntable three decades ago mixing with a contemporary guitar-heavy party vibe that could have been recorded two weeks ago.”

The music has drawn comparisons to classic artists like Stevie Wonder and Frank Zappa, as well as contemporary bands like Sublime and 311.
